Forget everything you think you know about Mexican food. One bite and trust us, you won’t be able to look at Tijuana style tacos the same way ever again. Prepare to meet: Chef Amado Lopez. Spend a few minutes with this charismatic, super-talented Chef that began his culinary career in Charlie Trotter’s kitchen in Chicago, and you’ll quickly see why Trotter immediately recognized Amado’s genius and sent him to the CIA on a full scholarship from the Charlie Trotter Foundation. From here, it was training under Chef Shawn McClain at his restaurants Spring, Green Zebra, and Custom House. And getting closer to his true epicurean Mexican passion, it was five years side by side with Chef Rick Bayless, where he traveled to Mexico on culinary tours with Bayless, worked at Topolobampo, developed recipes and opened Xoco. Which then led to helming his own taqueria, Habanero, in the financial district of downtown Chicago. Ready for the best part? Chef Amado brings a three-week residency to frame which we are turning into a full-blown authentic Tijuana Taqueria experience. Three consecutive weeks. Each week a completely delicioso different menu with plenty of options for vegetarians as a preview to Chef Amado’s next up project. To pair — we’ll be serving up summery pitchers of libations ( think tequila, coconut, lime and mole bitters), classic margaritas, buckets of beer and housemade pineapple and cucumber agua fresca. Dapple in the sunlight with us for the not to miss: La Tierra Cochinita Pibil and the truly unforgettable Mole Oaxaqueño. As you can imagine, we’re going loco for this residency! Please know that with our ever-continuous changing climate, you can always exchange your tickets for frame @ home, on the day of your scheduled Taqueria experience.

Rain Date Options: In the chance Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate on the evening of your frame tickets, we will have socially distanced indoor frame seating or you can opt for Chef Amado to prepare your dinners to go-to; to enjoy frame @ home. Pre-Covid canceled frame tickets: If you have a frame credit that you would like to use for this experience please email us here and we will happily honor your credit. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we re-schedule with each chef and maker during these tricky times. Covid Protocols at frame Please know that our response plan includes every measure of the protocol on workplace infection-control practice and health and safety training for both dine-in and carry out. Masks are required when entering frame and walking around the building but can be taken off once seated.
