Hamtramck’s lauded vegan and plant-based Nosh Pit makes its way to our frame kitchen just in time for a Sunday rooted in Polish culture with recipes from Bubbie’s kitchen, Buscia’s pierogi from Poland, music and of course, wódka (vodka).

With Pączki Day just around the corner, we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the tradition than a completely vegan takeover of Polish dishes reflecting the country’s long agrarian traditions. Grilled Potato, Beet, and Carrot Latke’s with Banana Jam, Dill Pickle Zupa, Pierogi with House-Made Vegan Farmers Cheeze and Fried Paczki filled with Fresh Raspberry and Angostura Jam.

Not sure what to say now?
we gotcha:  … it’s ” Na Zdrowie” (Nah zdrov-e-yay), meaning “To Health” in Polish translation.

Grilled Potato, Beet, and Carrot Latke with Banana Jam

Shredded Carrots, Beets, and Potatoes roasted and then combined with Oatmeal and Aquafaba,
squished into Patties and grilled served with 3 ingredient banana jam

Bubbie’s pickles, potatoes, carrots, and fresh dill to warm your toes.
Topped with Nosh’s own pickled carrots.

Fresh Raspberry and Angostura Jam
A dough of organic coconut cream, yeast, vegan sugar and flour risen twice then fried.
Filled with raspberry jam.
