A Jamaican Reggae Dinner Party
with
New York Times Celebrated Chef Max Hardy

Most chefs are happy to rein one restaurant, but Chef Max Hardy, a Detroit culinary legend answers our restless demands for two contemporary appetites: Lowcountry Caribbean and African cuisine with River Bistro and Jerk Chicken with Conch Fritters at Hardy’s COOP, inside The Detroit Shipping Co.

Prestigiously named by The New York Times as one of the 16 Black Chefs Changing Food in America, Chef Max brings us a banging menu of dreamy Caribbean flavors that celebrate his heritage. Some inspired by his mother’s Bahamian roots and others from his own teenage years in Miami.

Taking over the frame kitchen early October with a mix of Jamaican reggae, Bob Marley and Beres Hammond overhead, Max will be cooking up his greatest hits to create frame’s first Reggae Dinner Party. The best part?
We’re all invited…

“Tried out frame as part of the ‘grandma’s basement series’ with Chef James (Mabel Gray) and Chef John (Grey Ghost). Our Italian Family Dinner was delicious! Enjoyed every course (which kept coming). Best meatballs I’ve ever had!! Love the idea of home Cookin with a little flare, shared Family style with strangers. A wonderful evening!”

“The vibe at the Frame dinners also reflected the personalities of the chefs, who were able to interact with guests and offer stories about their food memories while cooking rustic dishes without the same expectations that come with their respective restaurants. The food was predictably great and unpretentious, but the series also highlighted the growing importance of personality and storytelling to the modern dining experience.”
