frame presents A Three James Dinner with James Bloomfield of Alliance, Traverse City with cocktail pairings and bar takeover by Two James Spirits Detroit
This late January frame residency is a collaboration of all things…James. Hooking up with Chef James Bloomfield of Traverse City’s Alliance for his second round at frame championing a winter vegetable-forward menu… And partnering with Corktown’s Two James Spirits (the first licensed distillery in Detroit since Prohibition) taking over frame’s marble bar with a stand-out cocktail pairing of their small-batch grain spirits. Three James creating an evening marrying hyper-localism with true heart and soul: Kohlrabi (Som Tum) Thai Style Salad paired with Two James Old Cockney Gin, Lettuce Wraps with Kimchi, Gojuchang and Braised Pork,  paired with Dos James Mezcal and Parsnip Panna Cotta paired with Two James Catcher’s Rye. Get yourselves booked in before the James’ disappear back into the depths of their own homes. We’re grateful to have them together in our house; if only for one night.
Menu {  first course  } Kohlrabi (Som Tum) Thai Style Salad Shredded Kohlrabi, Radish, Turnip, Carrot, Fish Sauce Vinaigrette, Peanuts, Tons of Fresh Herbs with COCKTAIL #1 Root & Stem featuring Two James Old Cockney Gin Coconut Milk, Lime, Lemongrass, Galangal Root   {  second course  } Charred Sweet Potatoes with Pickled Shishito Peppers from the Summer, Marinated Feta Cheese, Pumpkin Seed, Cilantro, Pumpkin Seed Oil with COCKTAIL #2 Mezcal Neat featuring Two James Dos James Mezcal { Orange Slice and Sal de Gusano }   {  third course  } Acorn Squash with Greens Acorn Squash Roasted and Pureed with Ginger and Kaffir Lime Leaves Dressed with Fresh Greens from Loma Farm with a Brown Butter Vinaigrette. Thursday, January 30th 5:30pm and 8:30pm  $60 per person + tax and service fee Included: Five winter forward courses by Chef James Bloomfield of Alliance, Traverse City and time with the Two James team.  A vegetarian option is available at checkout to substitute the pork for the 4th course.  Beyond this, Chef is kindly requesting no dietary modifications to the menu.
