Married chef’s JP Garcia and Jacqueline Diño’s creation of our next up residency: a Filipino September Supper Club…is that of a love story. Pairing their Japanese and classic French culinary training with their Filipino heritage, this duo is satisfying our craving for sour, sweet, and salty, outside on the patio@frame for 3 special September nights. Continuing to create a frame culture that cultivates community, good vibes, and an ever-changing line-up of emerging talent, this low-key themed bohemian Filipino dinner party is for each other, for friends, for family, and for food. With plates of fresh lumpia, creative cocktails, kansi with garlic rice, and incredible pastry by Jacqueline Diño (think Turon with banana and jackfruit) … we can be of the first to (socially distanced) chat with Chef Jacqueline about her recent experience on The Food Network’s set of the cooking competition show, Beat Bobby Flay. Pre-Covid lockdown Jacqueline competed in a pastry battle against Bobby Flay, titled A Sticky Situation hosted by Chopped’s Alex Guarnaschelli, which airs later this month. Rumor has is it that Chef Jacqueline beat Chef Bobby Flay, but we can ask her together in person. Isla means “island” in Tagalog and is meant to celebrate the Philippines as a “melting pot.” Frame is our home. Maligayang Pagdating. Grab your pashmina and let’s gather under the stars.
