The Bronx sometimes gets a bad rap compared to other boroughs, but New York’s real Little Italy along Arther Avenue, along with a little native Albanian flare, is where Chef Mark Camaj draws inspiration for his anticipated new restaurant, Nora’s Famous.

But this ain’t your average red sauce joint. At Nora’s, the fresh mozzarella is hand pulled, and the perfectly pillowy gnocchi are a famous recipe Chef Mark picked up during his time in the Big Apple working with Italian-American heavyweights like Andrew Carmellini and Marco Canora.

Chef Mark returned to Detroit a few years back to run the kitchen at Anthony Lombardo’s SheWolf and now is ready to bring his own version of the Italian-American genre to the Frame table while paying homage to Albanian-owned institutions like Patsy’s Pizzeria in Harlem.

We’re talking bountiful antipasto salad made with top-quality Italian meats and Chef’s glorious garlic bread. There’s that famous gnocchi, made from just the right balance of two simple ingredients: potato and flour. Plus hand-ground lamb & beef cevapi (for that Albanian touch), and naturally leavened wood-fire pizza topped with shaved summer truffles, pecorino, arugula, and lemon. Finish with classic sweet cream ricotta-filled cannoli for dessert.

Frame Sommelier has selected a gorgeous Italian wine pairing and we’ll be pouring Peronis and stirring perfect negronis behind Frame’s marble bar under Adam Accivatti’s genius watchful eye.
