Making Babka with Pastry Chef Gabriela Botezan
Journey with us to the heart of Eastern Europe, as Romanian-born pastry maven Gabriela Botezan introduces you to the twisted world of festive holiday babka.
You’ll watch as she crafts dough from scratch, then teaches you to recognize its rested readiness using your senses of touch and smell. You’ll make Gabi’s famous chocolate-walnut filling with a little kick of rum. Then together, you’ll roll out dough for your very own babka, as Gabi coaches you on properly cutting and layering for that beautiful trademark swirl.
Head home with a showstopper: your own babka, ready to bake and finish in your home oven and impress all of your friends and holiday guests with. It’s not just delicious — it’s also Instagram gold, a beautiful centerpiece for any spread.
Workshops run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
