New Asian with Chef Ji Hye Kim, Miss Kim & Chef Sharyn Harding, Prime + Proper
When frame commissioned Chef’s Ji Hye Kim (of Miss Kim, Ann Arbor) who grew up in Seoul, South Korea, obsessed with ancient Korean culinary texts and the finer points of fermentation… And Pastry Chef Sharyn Harding (of Detroit’s Prime + Proper) who comes to us via Napa Valley and Las Vegas, working under the tutelages of swanky pastry kitchens from the likes of Wynn Resorts and Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery, to share a meal and mash-up their Asian culinary philosophies… The result came together as one night in frame with 6 special courses that are genius together. A New Asian menu with : 3 savory from Chef Ji Hye Kim and 3 sweet from Chef Sharyn Harding. The inspiration is simple according to these female culinary powerhouses stretching their creativity on this collaboration: Choose your Friends wisely – and your ingredients even more Sagely. Or is that visa-versa? Regardless, the formula simply works here, showing the boys how it’s done.

( 2. Savory ) Spicy Green Salad with tomatoes, avocado, and silken tofu, with ginger scallion dressing
( 3. Savory ) Soy, Sesame, and Pineapple Marinated Duck with roasted seasonal vegetables and radish kimchi, over multigrain rice
( 1. Sweet ) Red Bean Cremeux with candied walnuts
( 2. Sweet ) Kabocha Gingersnap Tart with spiced maple ice cream
( 3. Sweet ) Petit Four Course caramelized pineapple mochi cakes chocolate peanut butter truffles with sesame seed croquant
