frame presents Modern Filipino with Portland’s Chef Carlo Lamagna
Portland Chef, Carlo Lamagna at frame for one night only.  Refined versions of quintessential Filipino dishes. Vintage vinyl tunes. Need we say more? Living in the Philippines for much of his childhood and teenage years, Carlo’s dishes are a glimpse into his life. Where he comes from : influences of his dad’s pork adobo and his mom’s potatoes and beef on rice. And where he’s been: after graduating with honors from CIA, Carlos staged in kitchens in Germany, France and Spain, moved to Chicago to work with chefs from the likes of Paul Virant, and to Portland to chef at the James Beard nominated, Clyde Common. But it wasn’t until his father passed away in 2009 that he needed to truly explore and push the boundaries of Filipino culinary by starting his cult followed pop-up series, Twisted Filipino. Doing a little travel before he opens his next concept, Magna in Portland, Carlo makes frame his home kitchen to share his classic Filipino techniques with modern, beautiful plating, old school flavor and new school style.
