In Chicago, Stephen Gillanders is quietly making a mark.
Winning the national title of San Pellegrino’s “Almost Famous Chef”…
Stephen started his journey as sous chef at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Prime. Which then turned to expansive travel throughout Asia and Europe to broaden his culinary repertoire. Onto becoming the corporate executive chef of the Jean-Georges management corporation opening 9 restaurants, foreign and domestic, responsible for the 7 New York restaurants within the Jean-Georges empire.

With a (cult) following in Chicago, Stephen opened his first solo restaurant,
 (named for his wife’s initials Seon Kyung Yuk)…who is responsible for the aesthetic of their brand, which receives continual critical acclaim, including “Best New Restaurant” by Chicago Magazine.

Now Let’s Get Up To Speed.
What started out as a team field-trip to dine with Stephen late last year, has spun into kismet:
a 4-day February S.K.Y takeover at Frame, just for us, well actually just for you.

What will be on his menu best described as creative American fare?
Stephen follows two mantras:
#1. His mentor, Greg Brainin [Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s right-hand man] says:
“Take your best 18 dishes for your menu.”
And #2. Coco Chanel’s famous words:
“When you think you are ready to go out, take off one article of clothing.”

So…with this. We Trust. We Drool. We Wait.
As Stephen will probably take off one dish from his Frame tasting menu right before you arrive in your seats.

What is Frame?

Tucked quietly behind FRAMEbar, frame is a revolving creative hub, home to a carefully curated programs of chef residencies and all round awesome experiences. 

Chef residencies, Sunday at Nonna’s Dinners, rap battles, art workshops, live acoustic sessions, cocktail pairings,  you name it… explore your interests, hone your skills, master a new art craft. meet new friends, share a meal. drink cocktails.  No two days here are ever the same. Seasonal, locally sourced and above all delicious, we’ve built our reputation on the food and drink we serve at frame.

We also partner up with a variety of brands on events of all different shapes and sizes, offering up top-notch food and drink and creative in-house production. frame can seat up to 50 guests dining or 80 guests, theater-style.
