frame presents A Summer Farm Dinner with Fennville’s Salt of The Earth and Chef Mike Kenat
There are Michigan farms and then there’s Fennville’s Salt of The Earth. It’s here, three hours west, that Chef Mike Kenat is savoring the bounty of the Western Michigan farm, developing an imaginative, witty and downright delicious spin on a Midwestern Rustic American menu with profound respect for every single ingredient. Mike’s philosophy is to source the best quality ingredients he can get his hands on, then work in tandem with the rest of his restaurant family to create memorable, caring experiences for his guests, from the house-made bread and butter that starts the meal to the heirloom tomatoes from the restaurant’s garden, just 42 steps from their back door (can’t get closer than that!)  This late August shared meal promises summer feels with wines paired by frame’s sommelier Bryan Lamorena and a divine Plum Tart by pastry chef, Cory Barrett, the recent winner of Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship, the Food Network series where 10 pastry chefs from across the country are pitted against each other in a baking competition. Together we gather to share a meal with Salt of the Earth, defined as basic, fundamental goodness. Let Summer Live On!
