Foraging Field Trip with Chef Ken Miller and Detroit Bus Company
Join us for a Saturday morning stroll in the woods as Chef, Nature Expert, Forager and Gather-er Ken Miller of Toasted Oak in Novi leads a guided foraging tour, teaching the ins-and-outs of foraging, learning to identify the edible plants growing in Michigan and the importance of using your senses to enhance your cooking.
You’ll begin by meeting Chef Ken at frame and boarding a Detroit Bus Company bus with 20 fellow foragers for a hands-on foraging experience.
Mother Nature is one of our most precious resources, so the foraging location will not be able to be determined until a few days before the workshop. We do suggest long sleeves, hats, closed-toe shoes, gloves, and skipping your daily perfume spritz. Also please note: as fall is yet to arrive, we can’t promise what Chef Ken will find on the trails. But what we can ensure is that when you hop back on the bus, you’ll leave armed with a whole world of edible tastiness, new-found respect, and connection with the food you’re eating…and a light boxed lunch ready for you.
