Chef Amado Lopez’s career is a journey that revolves around the fondness and authenticity of Mexico. Working amongst a tutelage of great chefs : Chefs Rick Bayless, Charlie Trotter, and Shawn McClain… Amado now calls Detroit home, opening his celebrated taqueria, Casa Amado ~ the culmination of both his background and his life experience…welcomed by critical acclaim.
For his second April weekend at frame, Amado marries the ingredients and techniques from Mexico’s highly dissected mountain ranges and plateaus: Puebla, Oaxaca and Chiapas.
And what we end up with are gorgeous creations like ‘Ceviche with Bay Scallops, Avocado and Mexican Cocktail Sauce’ ‘Pork Tinga with Crispy Potatoes and Chorizo-Tomato Sauce’ and ‘Lime Posset with Shaved Papaya.’
Matched in authenticity and sustainable creativity is the paired cocktail menu by frame’s mixtress Jaz’min Weaver and hand-selected wines by Sean Crenny..
