Champagne and Oysters: Learn to Shuck with NYC Oyster Expert Rifko Meier
Guided by NYC oyster expert Rifko Meier of Oysters XO, this 2-hour oyster workshop-meets-cocktail-party is the perfect chance for the obsessed to properly learn-to-shuck and the curious to fall in love with oysters and carry on shucking well past this frame experience. All things oysters are on the menu here and this evening’s experience is completely-hands- on, meaning you’ll be doing the shucking with a group lesson and table-side step-by-step instruction. Plan on learning how to identify the flavors in premium oysters and taste which wines and bubbles pair as you work your way through lots of oyster eating practice, experimenting with condiments and sauces. Rookie Shucker? No worries. Rifko’s got you covered. He’s taught hundred’s “how to shuck” at swanky spots including NYC’s Plaza Hotel, the James Beard House and Maison Premiere. Plus think of this way: we have so much to shucking learn on this earth, we may as well do it communally with a glass of bubbly in hand.
