Homemade Pasta Dinner Kits
by
Detroit’s Brooklyn Street Local

Corktown’s Deveri Gifford and Jason Yates of Brooklyn Street Local innately know what we want to eat. Honest, authentic, and environmentally sustainable, we’re beyond excited about our next up frame@home chef collaboration with ready-to-cook thoughtfully curated house-made pasta kits all about: simplicity, seasonality, and conviviality.

The deepest connections for Deveri and Jason and their culinary labor of love come from the hands of farmers, artisanal producers, and small productions within their Detroit neighborhood community.

Think ‘locally grown greens’…’fresh hand-cut egg-based pappardelle with beef based bolognese’ … ‘vegan hand-cut pappardelle with mushroom bolognese’ … ‘hand-cut ravioli with house-made ricotta‘ and ‘hand-cut vegan ravioli with cashew cheese filling’ …..

Pasta fresh rolled and extruded by day coming out of the frame kitchen, it’s what you’ll compare all other creative hand-made pastas to from here on out.
Kits complete with Sciacciatta, Herbed Tuscan Flatbread Straight From The Oven and Hand-Made Brandied Peach Upside Down Cake … be ready, because this duo lives to feed you.

Pair a carafe of cocktails by frame’s mixtress Jazmine Weaver or a bottle or two of really good wine from the frame cellar handpicked by Bryan Lamorena —
and here’s to Wednesdays in October — where there is no hassle, no fuss and all handmade delicious.

Please note: these kits require exercising just a tad bit of culinary skill  ..  (as in, boiling water for the pasta) and come with easy to follow step-by-step instructions to finish off in your own kitchen.

What are people saying?

Megan

“Tried out frame as part of the ‘grandma’s basement series’ with Chef James (Mabel Gray) and Chef John (Grey Ghost). Our Italian Family Dinner was delicious! Enjoyed every course (which kept coming). Best meatballs I’ve ever had!! Love the idea of home Cookin with a little flare, shared Family style with strangers. A wonderful evening!”

What are people saying?

Mark Kurlyandchik, Detroit Free Press

“The vibe at the Frame dinners also reflected the personalities of the chefs, who were able to interact with guests and offer stories about their food memories while cooking rustic dishes without the same expectations that come with their respective restaurants. The food was predictably great and unpretentious, but the series also highlighted the growing importance of personality and storytelling to the modern dining experience.”
