Botany at the Bar with Lavender and Lily + Mixtress Jaz'min Weaver (frame summer school)
The fusion of botany and booze unlocks a cocktail conversation so unique and inspiring that even we had to bring in an expert to help us grow our knowledge. As a lifelong creative and the founder of Lavender and Lily, Amanda Beyer has spent her tenure celebrating bespoke floral design, herbs + medicinal plants. Her aesthetic is self-described as “somewhere between punk rock and countrypolitan, but probably more like tragically romantic, garden-y and maybe bohemian”. In this two-hour Summer School class, Amanda will share her incredible working knowledge of botany, herbs + medicinal plants; diving into the unique and fascinating role these greens play in our kitchen and more importantly, our bar. We’ll get our hands a bit dirty, break down the common struggles in at-home gardening, and hopefully leave class with quite the green thumb. From here, frame’s marvelous mixtress Jaz’min Weaver will welcome us into her world of gorgeous craft cocktails and build on our newfound love for botany. Through the shake, stir and muddle, Jaz will be taking us on a deep dive into the profound role herbs play in our bars. Together, this mash-up of botany and the bar will surely make for one eco-inspired, boozy educational night! Please bring your own gardening gloves if you have them. We will have everything else ready for you. Each workstation will be socially distanced and adhere to our response plan that includes every measure of protocol on workplace infection-control practice and health and safety training.
