An Authentic Mexican Culinary Experience
Chef Michael Barrera
with curated cocktails by
One of the most exciting genres to come out of the frame kitchen is traditional Mexican. Unique plates powered by the best of the region’s ingredients, in which Chef Michael Barrera has wanted to cook with for a very long time.
Take one look – and you’ll understand why we’re already jonesing for this greatest hits dreamy MB menu…
We’re talking ‘Aguachile Verde‘ from the Sinaloa region (northwestern Mexico, bounded by the Gulf of California) | ‘Tamale’s’ from the Michoacán lands, (western Mexico that has a stretch of coastline on the Pacific Ocean to the southwest) | and ‘Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio‘ heralding familiar flavors from Mexico City.
And that’s not even half of it. Mixological masterpieces by frame’s Jaz’min Weaver, where her refreshingly modern selection of mezcals demonstrates that terroir isn’t just for wine; and a Calfornia Green Chile Vodka makes the top of our fan fave list coming from behind Jaz’min’s marble frame bar.
One weekend rounding out August, where an inventive pairing menu, promises great sensitivity and details of Mexico’s traditional food & drink culture. And an evening with Michael and Jaz’min means a joyous extension of their infectious personalities: playful, gregarious and instantly likeable.

What are people saying?
“Tried out frame as part of the ‘grandma’s basement series’ with Chef James (Mabel Gray) and Chef John (Grey Ghost). Our Italian Family Dinner was delicious! Enjoyed every course (which kept coming). Best meatballs I’ve ever had!! Love the idea of home Cookin with a little flare, shared Family style with strangers. A wonderful evening!”

“The vibe at the Frame dinners also reflected the personalities of the chefs, who were able to interact with guests and offer stories about their food memories while cooking rustic dishes without the same expectations that come with their respective restaurants. The food was predictably great and unpretentious, but the series also highlighted the growing importance of personality and storytelling to the modern dining experience.”
