frame presents Thai Sunday Dinner at Grandma Vang’s with James Beard Nominated Chef Genevieve Vang

From the start, our Sunday Nonna dinners have been some of our favorites ways to round out the weekend, where chefs create communal family dinners based on their grandmother’s recipes passed down from generations before them.

For our first fall Nonna, we welcome coveted gal-around-town, James Beard Nominated, Chef Genevieve Vang for a Sunday Thai Dinner devoted to her grandmother, whom she endearingly called Pog, as a young child living in Laos.

It was when Laos was taken over by the Communists, that Genevieve’s culinary journey began as a little girl during the Vietnam War, as her family became refugees in Thailand and later fled to Paris. It was here that she instantly became captivated by the exotic tastes and flavors of the local cuisine and honed her culinary skills.

Fast forward for Genevieve = Love, a family, 25 + years of restaurant success in Dearborn, an appearance on Food Network’s Clash of the Grandmas, a funky and fun Bangkok 96 Street Food outpost inside the Detroit Shipping Company and a 2019 nomination by James Beard in the Best Chef: Great Lakes Category.

Personality is at the heart of this Sunday experience. Bring your family, grandmas and those who love food and a good time — we can’t wait to share September 15th with the Vangs.
Sunday, September 15h 4:00pm and 7:00pm seatings $45 per person + tax and service fee Included: Time spent with Genevieve Vang and a traditional multi-course Authentic Sunday Thai Dinner. Additional: beer, wine, and a thoughtful frame cocktail list by frame’s resident beverage team
