Taiwanese Family Dinner
Win Son, Brooklyn
Class of 2017 Eater Young Guns

Located in trendy Williamsburg, the addictive Brooklyn-based Taiwanese restaurant, Win Son, a Young Guns Class of 2017  cult-favorite is creating a Taiwanese dinner party as part of frame’s Eater Young Guns series and we can hardly wait.

Fried eggplant with labne, steamed griddled pork buns and whole fish with scallion pancakes are on the menu here….introducing Taiwanese food to folks who haven’t tried it before, while surprising those who have, with new flavors and techniques.

Speaking from experience, we advise: dishes are best enjoyed with Win Son’s influenced cocktails, which of course will be flowing from frame’s marble bar.

The Menu

garlic + cilantro

black vinegar+ labne + spiced cashews

charred shishito mustard + fried basil + cayenne 5 spice

chili vinaigrette

sun gold tomatoes + preserved lemons + scallion pancakes

black sesame sugar

++ Chef is kindly requesting no dietary modifications to the menu ++

What are people saying?

“Tried out frame as part of the ‘grandma’s basement series’ with Chef James (Mabel Gray) and Chef John (Grey Ghost). Our Italian Family Dinner was delicious! Enjoyed every course (which kept coming). Best meatballs I’ve ever had!! Love the idea of home Cookin with a little flare, shared Family style with strangers. A wonderful evening!”

Mark Kurlyandchik, Detroit Free Press

“The vibe at the Frame dinners also reflected the personalities of the chefs, who were able to interact with guests and offer stories about their food memories while cooking rustic dishes without the same expectations that come with their respective restaurants. The food was predictably great and unpretentious, but the series also highlighted the growing importance of personality and storytelling to the modern dining experience.”
