Next Up: Thai-born Chef Ava Yau of Ann Arbor’s Of Rice Men brings a playful month-long DIMSUMbar focusing on the interplay between ingredients and techniques straight from the heart of her culinary sabbatical.
Chef Ava has just returned from sharpening her skills apprenticing in kitchens, traveling extensively through Indonesia and Thailand. She’s bringing back a slightly non-traditional, border-hopping dim sum experience, delicately handcrafted and cooked to perfection, each requiring extraordinary skill to make.

At DIMSUMbar 點心, our subdued low lights will be glowing red; dumplings will come filled with crispy duck; fried tempeh is dusted with sambal matah; A5 wagyu nigiri dances with kizami wasabi; shumai is filled with shrimp and pork; manilla clams get kissed by the wok with fermented black beans; and char siu bao buns are filled with savory bbq pork.

Acoustic signature sounds mixed by a different DJ every month, a wildly thoughtful paired Dim Sim cocktail menu, hand-selected silky beers, and flawless well-balanced sake for nestling into your steaming plates of shared deliciousness.

Catch up with friends, fly solo, book with a group, drop in at the bar — all you need is a pair of chopsticks.
