Mar 1st

frame (sunday dinner club)
presents
Big Night Progressive Cinema Dinner
with an Italian feast by
Anthony Lombardo and John Vermiglio
film by
Cinema Detroit
and transportation by
Detroit Bus

Food and film. We love them both.
Enter Big Night, the Stanley Tucci film set in the 1950s, about two Italian immigrant brothers from Italy who open their dream restaurant in New Jersey and put all of their efforts into one important meal, a feast of a lifetime, for the brothers’ Big Night.

Enter frame’s first Progressive Sunday Dinner Club of the New Year, where we pay tribute to Big Night with a film collaboration by Cinema Detroit and a magnificent Italian feast created by Chefs Anthony Lombardo of SheWolf and John Vermiglio of Grey Ghost, re-creating the iconic “timpano” masterpiece, the complicated baked pasta dish you’ll quickly familiarize yourself with once you see the film.

We don’t want to spoil the movie outcome or reveal the Chef’s Italian frame dinner menu based on the film… but as they say in love and life, one big night can change everything.

What are people saying?

Megan

“Tried out frame as part of the ‘grandma’s basement series’ with Chef James (Mabel Gray) and Chef John (Grey Ghost). Our Italian Family Dinner was delicious! Enjoyed every course (which kept coming). Best meatballs I’ve ever had!! Love the idea of home Cookin with a little flare, shared Family style with strangers. A wonderful evening!”

Mark Kurlyandchik, Detroit Free Press

“The vibe at the Frame dinners also reflected the personalities of the chefs, who were able to interact with guests and offer stories about their food memories while cooking rustic dishes without the same expectations that come with their respective restaurants. The food was predictably great and unpretentious, but the series also highlighted the growing importance of personality and storytelling to the modern dining experience.”
